Susan Seddon Boulet
http://www.mysterium.com/boulet.html

Susan Boulets' earlier life was spent on a cattle ranch in South Africa which gave her "great"
freedom, later on developing the love for fantasy and fairy tale that has been shown through
her artwork.

Her artwork influenced many of my designs by her use of colour, imagination and most of all how
her designs depict a story of belief within a single community in medieval times, or a couple
of centuries before. Focusing on a certain group of people and their beliefs, such as religion.

The medias used have been my only strengths within creating a decent piece of artwork. Medias
which include; oil pastel, inks and occasionally pencil. Stating she also works from the idea
of mythology and poetry gives me the understanding Susan and myself both share a common
interest of myth and legend brought by the mind of an artist, or perhaps the people who share
a single religion but are different comparing to your own vision of religion, beliefs and myth.

Her inspirations varied further from the basics of mythology, moving towards Jungian psychology,
and world wide spiritual traditions, as well as Susan's love for animals and the natural world.
You can easily see how these things have influenced her by the work produced over the years, from
Shamans, goddess' and animals within a religious viewpoint.

Her work has been reproduced and held in collections around the world.

Published books include; Shaman: the paintings of Susan Seddon Boulet (1989), and The Goddess
Paintings (1994), both of these books published by Pomegranate Artbooks in Rohnhert Park.
